Description

We have combined our knowledge and experience with the latest technology in ultralight materials to make the ultimate 55L ultralight mountaineering/climbing pack. Named after one of the most iconic features in the Blue Mountains, the Solitary 55 combines the trifecta of ultralight, durability and comfort.

This pack has been tested in the fierce Australian bush, Mt Denali, the alpine peaks of Europe and the vast Red Rock of Nevada. Designed by a team of people that have decades of experience is climbing, mountaineering and hiking, we know you will love this pack as much as we do.

The body of the pack is made from UHMWPE - Ultra 200 X or DCF (Blue) which has a tensile strength that is 15x stronger than steel. It is incredibly lightweight, abrasion resistant, waterproof, UV resistant and is incredibly hard to tear.Â

The back of the pack is made from Ultragridâ„¢ â€“ a true innovation in sustainability and strength. Ultragrid is woven at a BluesignÂ® approved facility with 210d recycled yarn from pre-consumer industrial waste and is interwoven with Dyneema thread. Ultragridâ„¢ provides exceptional tear-strength and visual impact.Â UltraGridâ„¢ has a C0 DWR coating, free from toxic PFCs, and is finished with a waterproof 1500mm PU backing.

We have incorporated an UltraStretchâ„¢ pocket into the hip belt â€“ ideal for a large smartphone and snacks.Â UltraStretchâ„¢ which is a 4-way stretch mesh, woven with the highest quality Ultra fibers so it will not shred when you go off track and through the bush.

The base of the pack is made from Ultra 800 X UHMWPE - a tough, highly abrasion resistant, lightweight material. The Solitary 55 seams are fully taped sealed to ensure that the pack is weatherproof.Â

The Solitary 55 has a removable frame sheet. The frame sheet provides extra support during those long days moving through the mountains. However, if weight is a premium it can be easily removed saving approximately 190 grams, leaving a very comfortable cored 10mm closed cell foam pad. The Solitary 55 weighs in at an impressive 900 grams (DCF) including the frame sheet and 710g without it.

The Solitary 55 has been designed with multiple attachment points that are compatible with our Ultralight helmet net, Expedition Hood and ski/split board attachment systems

How to Measure Back Length:

Locate the top of your hipbone (pelvic crest) on the side of your body. (Note: the pelvic crest slopes down at the front – but we are interested in the location of the highest point of your pelvis).
Approximate the top of your hipbone in your lumbar region, on your spine. Wrap the tape measure horizontally from the top of your hipbone to the spine to confirm this position if required. Make a note of this location.
Locate your C7 vertebrae. This is the highest bony protrusion on the back of your neck and is roughly in line with where your trapezius meets your neck. Make a note of this location.
Measure the length between your C7 vertebrae and the location you found on your lumbar spine in step 2.
